Campos, an outspoken educator and associate professor of education at the University of the Incarnate Word claims that abstinence is not all about avoiding sex but rather about a voluntary non involvement in sex and other sexual activities. It is a decision that he thinks should come from an individual person and therefore a person needs not to be coerced into not being party in sexual activities. According to him, abstinence and sex education is a very important aspect of growth which needs not to be ignored. In as much as the youth or children in general needs to be given sex education, it is imperative that the whole process is not done in a way that makes the children and youth want to engage in it or fear it all together. This is very right because the youth should be given the right teachings in the right way in order for them to decide whether to engage in it or not.
