Browsing around Kickstarter the other day, I noticed a project called the Pebble. Basically, it’s a watch with an e-ink screen that communicates with your smartphone over bluetooth. You can download apps for it such as a bicycle computer, golf rangefinder, and…oh yeah, you can use it to tell time. The project has taken off, and has raised a record amount for any Kickstarter project- almost $5 million. As soon as I scraped my jaw off the floor, I thought about how we only need a tiny fraction of that amount to accomplish our project’s goal.
If you haven’t already seen our project on Kickstarter, you should definitely check it out. We need a flash-curing unit to cure the t-shirts for this year’s Kitsap Mini Maker Faire. Without it, we have to spend around 15 minutes ironing each shirt, which adds up when you are making around 100 t-shirts. If you back the project, you get free admission to the 2012 Faire, as well as an awesome KitsapMaker t-shirt. We need all the help we can get, so if you want to support our project, go to the Kickstarter page and help us out. Help free us from the irons!
