I teach grades 1-4 at Poulsbo Adventist School. We try to come up with interesting things to create in Art.
We recently did an art project using crayons…although not the way you would ordinarily use them. I got the idea from another teacher. We attached crayons atop a framed canvas using epoxy. We heated the crayons with a blow dryer to their melting point while holding the assembly at an angle to create a cool drippy arty effect. This was a fun project, and became great display on our classroom wall.
Get on Google and find a more detailed tutorial if you want to try it yourself. Come to Kitsap Maker Faire and see what creative and interesting art projects are on display.
