CNC Cubes

Check out these awesome cubes made by some of the Kitsap Mini Maker Faire team!  The one with the piece floating in the center is a jack-in-a-cube, and the other one is a turner’s cube. They were drawn in Pro Engineer, which also generated the G-code, then LinuxCNC was used to run the 3-axis CNC engraver that cut them out.  If you were at Kitsap Mini Maker Faire 2011, you may have seen the CNC engraver that was used.  Walla Walla University was kind enough to let some of the team borrow the engraver for a few months, in exchange for a cool project to make on it.  This is what we came up with.
